I'm a Telkom Mobile SIM-SONKE prepaid user with a Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Ever since I ported my number from Vodacom to TM, most SMSs I'm sent are received on my phone more than once. I'm positive they're not somehow being sent more than once as it includes things like OTP SMSs sent by the bank, and these always contain the same code. It's not just automated SMSs either, messages sent by friends also arrive more than once regardless of which mobile network they're on.
On average one SMS might arrive like 5 times, sometimes more, and over a long period of time (I might receive an SMS sent by someone on Tuesday morning again on Wednesday night, for example).
Any idea what could be causing this? I opened a case with TM Support (081180) in Aug 2014 (case #4640641) but the problem was never solved. As you might imagine it's quite irritating.
