As we were scheduled to emigrate to Australia I attempted to cancel my two Telkom Mobile contracts in December. I went into the Telkom Mobile Store in Cavendish where I was initially told I needed to phone their cancellation line and that they could not do it in store.
After trying to get through to their contract cancellation line for a week I eventually got through to them about 1 week later. They told me that they could not do it and sent me back to the store.
I went back to the store on January 12th as I ws out of town for the holidays and a store assistant finally admitted that I needed to fill in a cancellation form in store which I did. They then promised me that they would submit it that day.
The next day on January 13th I sent an email to the cancellations email address on the form just to confirm that they had received it and to date I have had no response.
We flew out to Australia on January 21st. I was billed for the two contracts that I had cancelled on February 1st.
On February 2nd I lodged a complaint on Hello Peter (http://hellopeter.com/telkom/complai...tracts-1954465) requesting that this be escalated. Rafeeqah who is the social media contract assured me that the matter would be escalated and that someone would contact me.
A week later I have had nobody contact me.
I am in Australia now and I do not know what to do short of just closing the account. Does anyone have any advice? Telkom Rep, please can you help me out. I want to do this properly but Telkom is just blocking every attempt to cancel these contracts.
