I have several once-off packages with available bandwidth expiring during Septembar, but instead, my current consumption runs off my core bandwidth expiring at the month end.
Spoke to the operator on 081180. They are aware of the problem.
This is contrary to the contract, I hope we will be credited back.

Anyone experiencing slow / unusable connectivity on LTE Uncapped?
We have three sites in Bloemfontein area with the same problem.
Not all protocols seems to be affected. HTTP and mail are unusable.

Telkom's September big deal offers 500MB Anytime data plus 10GB Telkom data each month, with a Huawei E5573 Router, for R139pm x 24. My area (Robindale, Randburg) is not yet covered by LTE. So:
1. What will the result be if I use this modem? I presume I can, and I'll just get 3G speeds?
2. Anyone know when LTE will be rolled out to my area?

We bought a Telkom SIM at around 11:00, and it is still not active at 16:30.
Is this normal? How long can one expect to wait for an activation?

Hi,
We are streaming live church services and daily devotionals but have a problem with our Telkom upload speed. I have set the modem to 4g 1800Mhz and get download speeds regularly more than 30 Mbits/s but my upload is never more than 1. Here are some results.

From 1st September my LTE data is depleted on the Last-In-First-Out basis instead on the First-In-First-Out basis as stipulated in the contract.
I have once-of packages expiring on the 13th and 27th September, but since the beggining of the month they are left intact, while my included/inclusive data expiring on 1st October is being depleted.
It happens to others too.
I wonder is it the nation-wide phenomenon?

I'm a first time Telkom Mobile client and I've just received my Telkom Mobile sim and Huawei LTE modem and have a few questions:
1. How do I check the data remaining for the month? Telkom customer service reckons I can't link my Telkom Mobile account to my regular Telkom account to be able to track usage via the Telkom app or website until I receive my first Mobile bill. Sounds a bit suspect as the line and sim are already active and in use.
2. Is it possible to get a daily email/sms with my remaining data balances to ensure I don't go out-of-bundle?
3. I requested Telkom customer service to place a soft lock on the line to block usage as soon as the in-bundle data has been depleted. Should I deplete the regular 10GB but still have Night Surfer data left, will the soft lock kick in or will the line use (and charge) out-of-bundle data/rates until all in-bundle data has been depleted?
4. My contract contains 10GB Night Surfer data. According to Telkom customer service I need to switch off the modem just after 00:00 to allow the sim to switch to the Night Surfer data, to prevent using from the regular 10GB bundle. Is this the only way to tap into the Night Surfer data?

I'm hoping someone can shed some light or has a similar experience.
I have an LTE 100GB package. On Saturday i saw that the router was showing disconnected. It has been fine for about 8 months now.
I checked all settings and so far what I can see after trying 3 modems is that;
1. The SIM is connected to Telkom 4G/3G.
2. The modem tries to connect and fails. On some devices its just failed, on another it said "failed with error code 9"
I've tried calling Telkom 4 times and all 4 times their helpdesk simply says there's nothing wrong with your SIM its fine, you must just click "Connect" because its not connected to the network!!! *pulls hair out*
They've checked my account, its fine, they can see it registered on the network fine. But no matter what you put the SIM into it never connects to the Internet on 4G, 3G nor 2G.
Telkom is no help since their call-center just blabbers the same repetitive thing . -we checked and everything is fine but your sim is not connected (ermm yes thats i'm phoning you!)
Any ideas from anyone?

Hello Guys,
I am on the R50 for 500gb deal. I notice as soon as it hits midnight, I am not able to use
the service. It says "No service" in the router. This has happened to me for the past 2 weeks.
I am not sure what time it comes back up, but surely Telkom is up to some mischief.
Anyone get the same ?

I love Telkom Mobile due to its affordable data my disappointment is the it does not support LTE/4G network. So guys at Broadband please investigate this. I use a Blackberry Priv and it's not the phone as I tested other networks
1. MTN
2. CellC
Never tested Vodacom.
But the other two the networks the phone works fine on LTE/4G speeds. Have called spoke to telkom and told them their sim cards are not LTE/4G compatible. They said I'm at an area with no coverage. Question does that include Sandton areas as well?????
Broadband please investigate.

So i'm in a bit of a conundrum at the moment. I currently have an 8meg ADSL line and do about 140-150 gigs a month, pay R600 +R200 odd.
Also have a 5+5 gig LTE package for backup and work.
The ADSL line has been down for about a month now, first was slow now its dead. My pole is in a neighbor's yard. Its taken a while to get access but the contractor took one look at the box on the pole and said Telkom will have to replace and probably move the pole. At the same time 3 different providers are trying to get in the area with fiber: Cybersmart, Openserv and Vuma. Openserv have already contacted me to move the pole in to my yard so I know whats going to happen...they wont replace or maintain the current pole because in a few months time they will be laying brand new fibre. I'm opting for the trenching with Cybersmart though so not even really any point waiting.
My main idea right now is to cancel my ADSL line and try use the LTE until fibre comes. I get great speeds in my area only real issue is I can burn that 5 gig in a night... streaming TV.
The LTE contract ends in November so could wait till then and go on a month to month contract with say 30 + 30 gigs. It wont really be enough but I could just limit my self...
or I could just upgrade now and take out ANOTHER 2 year contract with more data..... because I really need to have internet at my house ASAP !!!!
So I go to the Telkom shop to see what my options are, yes I can actually upgrade my contact now (two months early) but then the guy tells me if I wait two weeks on Oct 1 all the summer deals come out and its basically double data on all their existing contracts.:crylaugh:
But I don't actually want a new contract... I want month to month... so that when fibre comes in a few months I can chuck it.
Then I see the FreeMe contracts... and I'm wondering if this is actually OK to use for home internet ? Its not LTE but I'm happy with HSDPA and it looks like you get unlimited streaming on the contracts ? AND for R50 more you get 500 gigs night surfer ?
It weirdly feels easier to just get a new sim with month to month contract ? Then let the old one die in two months ?
So flipping complicated !

Hi Guys,
My Telkom sim has no data and has a account limit. But suddenly allows me to access internet tonight. Brief search on twitter shows other users experiencing it too.
Data balance via ussd and website is offline.
Can anyone else confirm same experience ?

I think Telkom is blocking incoming traffic to my router? I turned off the firewall (for now). I can connect to my server using my internal IP but am unable to access it using my external IP.
I've followed the steps according to this link -

It does not work, I would like to know how I can speak directly to a Telkom engineer/network specialist. It may be that Telkom is blocking incoming access to my router.
Any advice would be appreciated

I've experienced battery drainage for 3 years now when I use Telkom's network (no roaming). Anyone experiencing the same thing? The H+ signal strength is 70%, so the signal is decent I believe.

I wanna get Telkom's LIT streaming service soon :), and I wanted to know if anyone can share their experiences with it?
It's a great deal for me personally. But I don't really trust Telkom. :D
(I know all the "Fair Usage" and video quality limit stuff btw)
