Telkom LTE tower identification & location required

Is there someone on the forum that can perhaps please assist in finding the Telkom LTE tower identification & location based on the following info supplied.

I used to have pretty good connectivity and speed, but over the last week or so my connections repeatedly drop and very low speeds? The gain on the antenna also dropped, so I assume my outdoor antenna positioning possibly off.

Equipment, Huawei B880 wireless gateway, and 2X Poynting LPDA0092A directional antennas.

Update Integrated Data Sim

Has anybody just received an email, regarding update on change of plans, with regards to the integrated data sim? Bit disappointed by this, but hey ho, it was good while it lasted.

We trust that you have been enjoying and benefiting from your Telkom Integrated Data service.
What is the Telkom Integrated Data service?
With the Telkom Integrated Data service you are able to access your Telkom Internet fixed data bundle from any mobile device, such as a WiFi router, Tablet or 3G USB modem, via a Telkom Internet SIM. This means that you will be able to connect and use the internet at home when your DSL service is not working. You can also use the Telkom Integrated Data service when you are on the move. Please note that your Telkom Internet SIM only works on the Telkom 3G/LTE network. Click here to confirm 3G/LTE coverage.
This offering was on promotion during 2015 and, due to popular demand, extended to 31 March 2017. During the promotional period, SoftCap Internet accounts were entitled to consume their fixed internet data bundle on mobile and Uncapped accounts were allocated a fair amount of usage.
New data allocation
New data allocations will become applicable from 1 April 2017 and will become default on all SoftCap and Uncapped products. Existing customers will automatically be converted to these new values. Refer to the table below for the amount of mobile data that will be available per Telkom Internet product, at no extra cost to you. You will continue to access your fixed data bundle via your Telkom Internet SIM, but will be limited to the data amounts as indicated below.


You will still be able to top up your data via www.telkom.co.za/today/help/home/. Go to Internet & WiFi and select Top Up Data. You will require your Telkom Internet username and password to login. Once logged in, you can purchase the required amount of data via the secure credit card purchase facility.

Can't dial Botswana landlines from my landline in JHB ?

Can get through via my cell to landlines in Bots.

Can dial all other numbers in SA , 011, 012, 021 etc but not 00267 ?

I have an ordinary phone and a Easitouch 405. Problem for a week or two already.

Any ideas ?

I trust that the info I provide helps clear up a few questions. It took me 45min of my time on the weekend after a customer asked me about the Shared FreeMe Family packages. I managed to get a consultant that paid attention during their info briefings!!!! :cool:

How to cancel a ^&*#^@&*#^@*!!!! VSAT account??

We have been trying to cancel our work VSAT account for 6 months!!! Telkom are seriously the biggest bunch of incompetent idiots I have come across. 6 months of call centres, emails, going to the walk in centers, and even communicating with the hello peter telkom consultants. I desperation, I cancelled the debit order.

Result? Telkom has now cut off our other account which includes our ADSL accounts, telephone and fax lines.

And their solution? "just keep paying so we can restore the other account's service". Really?

If I don't find someone with a brain cell tomorrow, I am going to make sure Telkom is completely scrubbed from our entire operation.

Telkom mobile 10 + 10 Internet Plus (from 2013) for R199/ month

Good day there my knowledgeable mybroadband people.

I took out a 24 month contact telkom mobile 10gig+10gig back in 2013. 5 year later I am still using it, paying month to month same price of R199.

My friend also took out the same contract around the same time as me. He recently received his statement with a price increase, although mine is still the same. So he went to Telkom shop, and spoke to the people where who told him that this offer is now not supported any more hence the price increase.
I am not 100% sure of all the details he discussed there, and I think there might have been a miscommunication somewhere that side, anyways, he canceled his. (Big mistake I think!!!)

So I come here and ask if anyone else has had this? Are they allowed to sommer increase prices?

My streaming and Youtube experience has died to a crawl over the last 2days. Online gaming has also taken a hit with high latency.
I really don't understand, I am on a CAPPED account.

TELKOM!!! Night data mess

I've been on the Home Office 20GB (Now known as smart broadband) package for the past 1.5 years which comes with 20GB night data which I have been getting and using every month.

In February, I assumed I got my night data and set downloads to start after midnight, a few days later, noticed that I did not get night data and almost depleted my cap.
Contacted a Telkom chat agent who first said that my plan never came with night data and then changed his story to it being a promotion that ended on 1st Feb.
I got my night data a few days later...

This month, I once again have not received night data.
Contact a chat agent again who told me that I should be getting night data and did for this month but have already depleted it.
Asked for proof and she sent me this...Name:  Capture.jpg

I've added a sum of the column "Actual Volume" which equates to 9524291581 bytes or +- 9.5GB.
You will also see that the data usage she sent me was total used and not just night data.
So with a total usage for the month of 9.5GB, I managed to use up all my 20GB night data?
Right...
She ended the chat after sending the usage sheet.

Contacted Telkom on Facebook and now I once again get told that my package does not get night data.

WTF????

And as we all know, getting someone from Telkom to assist and who actually knows what they are talking about is not an easy task.

Loaded large amount of airtime a couple of weeks ago, to buy a Freeme bundle. All good, except Telkom didn't load the Unlimited Wifi benefit. Not an urgent problem as there was still some left from the previous month.

I did however log the call with Telkom, asking them to load the benefit.

I followed up on the case number today after no fix from them (and because the active bundle expired today), and was told "You won't get the benefit if there was still an active bundle when you loaded airtime. Sorry, can't help you, that's the rule."!!!

Anyone had any experience of this already? Is there a Telkom rep on this forum who can help?

Except, you know, those 011 numbers that have ported to Neotel

I just ran out of airtime on a nice long call to an 011 number foolishly thinking I was making a free call. I just called Telkom to confirm and they tell me the number is now a Neotel number. So how is one supposed to tell these days if the number stays the same??

On the 21st of February i did an eft for 10gb of data which till this day 17/3/2017 i have not received. After countless calls to 10210 and speaking to the people there, getting case numbers (which Telkom closed without resolution) i have still not got my data. I have supplied PoP stamped by the bank and still nothing happens. Not only are Telkom thieves, but they are incompetent, inefficient, idiots that obviously dont know how to do a bank reconciliation for the day the data was bought. The amount of un allocated moneys in their account must be staggering. You have lost another customer, and everyone i can tell my story to will also understand your incompetence.

Telkom FreeMe Social Media Throttling

Telkom is disappointing me greatly. I'm having an issue with social media throttling on my FreeMe 5GB contract. What's supposed to happen as described by them is that social media data is for Whatsapp, viber and BBM. But the truth is it gets depleted by Instagram and Facebook too... Which makes that 2GB go very fast (5 days at the longest). Then once it's depleted, regardless of the fact that I have over 5GB of usual data left ALL my social media apps are throttled to 64kbps which basically makes them useless. I have called, emailed, posted on their forum all to no avail. I keep being told "it's only for whatsapp, viber and BBM" when clearly it's not and also it gets throttled which shouldn't happen until at least I have absolutely no data left even on the all network data. Someone please help. Who can we talk to? I know a lot of friends on telkom mobile complaining about the same thing. I have a feeling it's because Facebook owns Instagram and Whatsapp and on the backend they now use the same network, and Telkom simply isn't aware, therefore when I'm on Instagram or Facebook it perceives me as being on Whatsapp.

Has anyone here taken out a month-to-month contract with Telkom Mobile? I am having a look at their data deals, and I would certainly want to grab the 10GB month-to-month deal (assuming theres no 24 months contract), with the sim card only (I got a router).

Anyone else having major packet loss today?

On both my phone and my internet connection I am sitting with about 30% packet loss, making the Internet unusable. Im really pissed off as I have a lot of work to do and the Telkom network is a huge mess up. When I phone their office they say they recently released some QoS update that is causing this. Not sure how true this is. The reason I say that is because when I told the person I was speaking to at support and I told them, "I am getting huge packet loss", I get a "how do you know they are missing?" as a response....

I never knew how badly a poor internet connection would impact my ability to work :(

Visiting South Africa - Is Telkom the one I need?

I'll be visiting South Africa, from Botswana, at a regular rate and will need the same South African number while I'm there.

I've used Cell C before and :sick: , and I've heard of Telkom's FreeMe Boost Bundles, which seem good for me, so I was wondering:

1) Is Telkom reliable?
2) Are their network speeds good?
3) Will I have constant network from the Botswana Border (Kopfontein), through Zeerust, into Johannesburg?

TELKOM LTE - MONTHLY DATA USAGE QUESTION

For various reasons I've been slack and not taken up Telkom LTE-A R 799.00 24 month contract. As fibre is still not available in my town I'm looking at buying my own router and going for the sim only month to month option. As I have become more disillusioned with DSTV with every passing month I have been looking at streaming content via third party apps through Kodi or Plex.

If I watched 3 hours of 'television' every day by streaming content how much data would I consume on average on any given month ?

Telkom maintanance contactnr. to report towers that is not working.

Good day,

IS there any way to contact Telkom maintenance in a specific area to report towers that is not working.
In a radius of 15 kilo's from our farm there are 2 towers that the electricity on the transformers is disconnected. The strange thing is it's only one link that is disconnected. This is more than two weeks now, and makes a huge difference in our signal. Any contact details for Witbank, Balmoral or Bronkhorstspruit please. The towers is situated on the Balmoral School road to Verena. Regards
